In these heady, fearful days of a presidential race that's going from the idiotic to the shameful, of a refugee crisis in Syria, of tainted water in Flint and racism everywhere, I'd like to bring out an ancient Hebrew word that could bring some hope.Shalom.It means peace, but it means so much more than peace. It means wholeness, completeness, and friendship. It means fulness.And so in our fragmented world and with our fragmented selves, we need an ancient vision that might propel us into the future with some hope. I'm tired of living in fear and being led by voices that sound powerful but ae spewing fear.
