This Good Word Episode 22: Race (ShowNotes)
On Monday, we celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life - his beautiful, courageous, prophetic life. He was seized by a vision of his children growing up in a world where they would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.Racial tension in America is swirling right now, looking for a place to land, and so much of it is blanketed in fear. I'm aware that white guilt is so pervasive that it's difficult to even talk about this without shame stopping the conversation in its tracks. But we're in this together, so let's learn to talk about it together. In this episode, I talk for awhile, then I include my friend Dee's message that she gave at Genesis Covenant a few weeks ago. It was gracious, powerful, uncomfortable, and so very good. I hope you listen all the way through.Enjoy!Links:Dee McIntosh serves as the Associate Pastor of Missional Community Engagement at Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina, Minnesota. One Thousand Gifts, by Ann Voskamp.
