This Good Word, Episode 63: Practice with Aaron Niequist

Version 2I have wanted to have Aaron Niequist on the podcast for a long time, primarily because he and I are doing something pretty similar in the church world - getting back to the ancient practices that help followers of Jesus get in touch with how to partner with God's dream for humanity. I loved our conversation - we rambled, laughed, and hoped for a future together in a way that felt very generative. We also had a heartfelt conversation about the future of the evangelical church.Aaron is husband to Shauna (author of Present Over Perfect, Cold Tangerines, and several other books), dad to Henry and Mac, curator of A New Liturgy, and a pretty amazing musician. He also leads The Practice, "an experimental gathering where we immerse ourselves in God's dream for humanity, practice the historic disciplines that align us with God's dream, and carry each other along the way. We are learning to live out Jesus' teaching in the world." The Practice meets most Sunday nights at Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago, Illinois.Enjoy!
